How digital learning is helping in personality enhancement during lockdown
Several edtech and digital platforms are offering courses in foreign languages, music, arts, technology, photography among others
The lockdown has led to surge in EdTech learning, several youngsters are using this time to upgrade their personality by learning new skills. Global digital platform MeVero that offers nearly 19 groups in various fields such as music, writing, performing arts, photography, technology among others has witnessed a rise of around 40% in the last one month.
This web and app-based digital platform allows users to pursue their passion by connecting them with people following the same hobby from across the world. The users can connect and exchange their videos and photos and learn from each other. They are also provided with personalised curated content and online creative tools, life coaches and daily inspirational content related to their passion.
“We have around hundred thousand users across 221 countries. Of these around 40% rise in users have been noticed in the last one month. The app hopes to reach 1 million users in the next two-three months,” said Kaushik Banerjee, co-founder and CEO, MeVero.
Another digital application, GuruQ offers a chance to boost their language skills by studying a foreign language. The platform provides individuals with an opportunity to learn French, Spanish, German, Russian, Italian, Arabic, Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese.
With 1,287 enrolments in March, the platform has witnessed an increase of 35% from February. Around 955 students had enrolled for the foreign language course in February.
Students of class X and XII locked indoors are also utilising the time for planning their career choices during this lockdown. An edtech career guidance platform iDreamCareer.com is providing 30 days free access to 1,047 hours of content on careers, colleges, entrance exams, scholarships amid coronavirus crisis.
"Over the last one month, the average time spent by a user on our platform has gone up from 7.1 minutes to more than 16 minutes. Our enrollment for paid packages has also increased by 6-7 times in March and in the first week of April," said Ayush Bansal, founder and CEO, iDreamCareer.
